Plus Ultra New

“Plus Ultra", from Magnus Studios These are the newest items from the Plus Ultra Product line from Douglas Magnus. This line features proprietary jewelry technology and a unique "look' that's modern in sensibility, but reflects a strong heritage from the early Spaniards in New Mexico and the southwest.

New Mexico '100'

New Mexico "100" Collection William Taft, a Republican was President of the United States when Congress admitted New Mexico as the 47th state in the Union on January 6, 1912. The admission of the neighboring State of Arizona on February 14, 1912 completed the contiguous 48 states. The New Mexico "100" are Sterling Silver or Gold and made entirely by hand in Santa Fe using ancient techniques.

Primal Diamonds

The Primal Diamond Collection The intrinsic motif throughout the Primal Diamond Collection is the Rustic Diamonds. Rustic diamonds are unadulterated diamonds just as they are found in nature. No two alike, their extreme uniqueness reflects the Individuality of the One. The Primal Diamonds are embedded into Sterling Silver or Gold by hand using ancient techniques. These diamonds are not traditionally 'set' so much as 'captured' in precious time and space. Gold may be added to the pieces and embossed with significant symbols such as 'Infinity', meaning 'Forever. This "capturing" process is under further development by Doug, and is considered a proprietary process by Magnus Studios. While many jewelers may use rustic diamonds, Magnus Studios has developed several unique process steps in the "capture" technique.

Santa Fe "400" Collection

“La Villa Real”, The Royal City Santa Fe was officially founded by Spaniards in 1610 at the sites of “Ancient Ones" (pueblo peoples and ancestors), going back thousands of years. From then ’til now Santa Fe has figured prominently in the history and cultural diversity of the Southwestern USA. This rich heritage inspired jewelry artist, Douglas Magnus, to create the ‘Santa Fe 400 Collection’©. These commemorative medallions are authentic handmade representations of Santa Fe’s 400 years, based on colonial Spanish ‘8 reale’ coins and bullion, utilizing primitive and modern techniques, symbols and materials, including in some, rare turquoise from the ancient Cerrillos mines, immediately outside of Santa Fe.

Fine Jewelry

FINE JEWELRY

The pieces shown here represent an assortment of gold and turquoise jewelry, and are all hand made unique pieces.

Natural Cerrillos Turquoise is very rare and no two stones are alike. Each piece of Cerrillos Turquoise and gold jewelry shown on this website is unique and may not be available for purchase at this time due to prior sale.

If you are interested in a similar, but not exact piece of Cerrillos Turquoise jewelry, please call or email to discuss the project.

Douglas Magnus

has been developing his fine jewelry items by looking into his own life for inspiration. Never one to copy or follow the trends, Douglas has applied his knowledge of traditional, Southwestern, and Native American jewelry techniques to this beautiful line of jewelry items.

These exquisitely handcrafted jewelry pieces are made with rare Cerrillos turquoise, gathered from our ancient mines located near Santa Fe, New Mexico. The turquoise is 100% natural and has not been chemically treated. Since these mines are no longer active, the turquoise is both scarce and costly.
